People are fascinated by rare animals.  Occasionally, when they appear everyone wants to know more about them. Scientists study them because they want to understand more about them.

According to the article "These rare white giraffes shocked many locals, including myself, but they also gave us renewed energy to protect and save our unique wildlife," Abdullahi Ali, founder of the Hirola Conservation Program. Its important to learn more about the animals and to study how they were produced. Animals like this should be protected for dangers humans and animals to keep them around longer and see whats makes them white.

The blog states that "Rangers from the Hirola Conservation Program were alerted by villagers that the mother and calf were seen walking together near the Ishaqbini Hirola Conservancy in Kenya's Garissa County in May". People alerted the rangers of the rare white giraffes to prevent something bad from happening to them. Villagers wanted to help the rare white giraffes by telling rangers for they can study them to see how they became white in the first places and see how the are different from regular white ones and see how the mom giraffe lived for a long time.
